Speaking of studio space, here's a little activity from Living the Creative Life:
In your journal (or a notebook), describe the space where you actually create. Where is it? How big is it? What are the best things about it--the good light? The quiet? The fact that the door can be shut at the end of the day? Sketch the floor plan? How could you make changes that would make it more functional? New paint, new energy? A bookshelf? If you are not happy with your space, look around? What improvements can you make to the space you work in to be more productive?
Here's Mz. Nina Bean, The Creative Cookie mascot, in our studio space, watching me.
Brazilian designer Alexandre Herchcovitch has an explicit zest for designing. As I watched his runway show, I felt like I was in a kaleidoscope of color, texture, warmth, and glamor. From the shredded ribbons to the football-like padding, nothing about this collection was static. I’m a fan.
