Rachel Roy's pieces for Spring 2010 are full of clean color, tailored elegance, and soft floral notes. Rachel has successfully revived the 90's power suite and captured the chicness of the 70's in one collection.
Australian designer, Toni Maticevski, never fails to create clothing that is timeless, beautiful, and emotional. I fell in love with his work last fashion week after being on what felt like an amazing ride, as I observed each model who graced the runway. Here are some of looks I liked, the most, this season.
I am a hUge Project Runway fan. On Saturday night, I attended Leanne Marshall's runway show and I found myself captivated the entire time. Leanne is on my "top 5" list of most talented designers on the show. I made the prediction that she'd win at the start of season 5, when I saw her innovative response to the first challenge, and she did! I have a document to prove it (Download Scorecard). After the show, I had a few moments to talk with Leanne. Here is a quote from her about the inspiration for this collection.
"The collection is inspired by a font. Back, when I was a graphic designer, I would occasionally stumble across a font that I fell in love with. Now, I have created a collection inspired one that has tickled my fancy. There are other elements of graphic design throughout the collection, and the contrast of hard/soft and masculine/feminine as inspired by the font. Absolutely everything was created using eco-friendly materials and sustainable methods."
I can only use my favorite word to describe what I saw, love.
