Elizabeth Rynish

Creative women inspire me—I love meeting them. So, chatting over coffee in a bustling Starbucks with Elizabeth Rynish, Creative Director, of the Seam Collective was a treat. In 2005 Elizabeth co-founded the Collective with three other women establishing a space for emerging, female, fashion designers to pool together resources to have cost effective fashion events. Since the Collective’s founding they have produced three shows and showcased 17 designers. These shows have served as a unique way to raise awareness, friends, and funding for nonprofit in the New York City area.

Elizabeth's zest for fashion can also be seen in her, 60's inspired, ready-to-wear collection for women who like garments that are artistically engineered. Elizabeth says,

"I want to provide more choices for women who want to wear dresses, look and feel feminine, and show off a unique sense of style."

With a background as a visual artist, she's able to create her own original fabric prints with rich colors that mingle beautifully. Her Spring 2010 collection has a diverse range of textile choices including silk charmeuse, stretch silk, woven sateen, and jersey. Elizabeth’s attention to detail is outstanding; I love the pocket placement, belts, buttons, and the amazing necklines. She presented her collection at the, Seam Collective’s, fashion show, Forte, which featured Project Runway finalist Kenley Collins benefiting Gilda’s Club.
