Leifsdottir / Fall 2010

When I have a little extra dough, Anthropologie is one of my favorite places to shop, so it's not a surprise that I am fond of the Leifsdottir collection for Fall 2010. With a strong Spanish theme Thursday's presentation, entitled "A Catalonian Affair",  was rich with color, ruffles, punchy prints, and the most amazing tights.  It was nice to see so many elegant details like buttons running up the side seam of shorts and scalloped ruffles on leather. The best part of it, for me, is that I can actually afford to own a piece or two. Check more looks in our photo album.

LaQuan Smith / Fall 2010

I'm a fan of the skillful and creative LaQuan Smith, at 21 years old, he's one of the fashion industry's brightest new stars.  When LaQuan graduated from high school, in 2007, he started interning at BlackBook magazine. Through this opportunity he learned that fashion design was his passion and the rest is history. LaQuan has designed custom pieces for artists including: Lady Gaga, Rihanna, Amber Rose, Aubrey O’day, and many more.

LaQuan debuted his collection during New York Fashion Week to packed audience of exclusive attendees including top fashion press, buyers, celebrities, and of course, The Creative Cookie. His collection has eye-poping metallics, netting, and foam-like materials making fascinating lines and volume in all the right places. Its hard to believe that he's sewing all the pieces from his tiny home studio (which doubles as his bedroom). I can't wait to see what LaQuan creates next season and beyond--he's one young designer to watch.

Likable Looks III

Coco & Breezy / Fall 2010

I adore glasses so my four eyes and I went to check out, custom couture eyewear designers, Coco & Breezy's presentation of their latest specs. Here's a bit of what I saw:

Irina Shabayeva / Fall 2010

Project Runway season 6 winner Irina Shabayeva debuted her Fall 2010 collection during Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week. Irina's collection, inspired by freedom and flight, was full of artful elements such as beading, hand printing, and exotic materials to recapture the lost art of producing fashions by hand. Her creative construction incorporates materials such as duck feathers, pheasant feathers, and wings made from Tupperware to create the most amazing bodices and unforgettable silhouettes.

Carlos Miele / Fall 2010
