I'm pleased to announce that The Creative Cookie is one of many community partners for this year’s Red Hook Fest presented by Dance Theatre Etcetera on the fabulous Red Hook Waterfront (yay!). My hubby kamau is the Festival producer for this event relevantly themed Rebuild, Restore, Rebirth: Resilience After Sandy.

Tomorrow night I'll be speaking on a panel at Wix Lounge to celebrate the launch of the book Grow: How to take your do it yourself project and passion to the next level and quit your job! by the stylish and talented Eleanor C. Whitney! If you are in New York come and learn how to turn your personal passion into a sustainable project from a few people including me. (OMG, what an honor this is!!!).

The Creative Cookie was a sponsor of the P.S. 10 fashion show fundraiser which took place on May 9th. P.S. 10 is a magnet school, in Park Slope, for math, science and technology. The event featured a fashion show of model moms, staff, and faculity who were able to strut their stuff in the designs of Anglerox and Corico, both Brooklyn based designers.

Last week a friend and fellow style blogger, Sammy Davis, came to my High School fashion design class to give a lesson on vintage fashion. Lucky them and lucky me.
