I'm assuming that most of my readers know but, I'M GETTING MARRIED ON APRIL 30th! Our wedding is being planned in 30 days (today is day 11) and there's so much to do. Lucky for me my other half is super helpful. We're both working hard to pull it all together:)

I'm totally psyched about my dress -- Epperson from Project Runway season 6 is designing it and it's going to be unique & equally lovely. This photo was taken while Epperson and I were shopping for fabrics during our 2nd dress consultation last Wednesday.

little spark

I've decided to start crafting again! For awhile I had shifted away, spending more time with photography and writing. Lately I've had the urge to start folding and cutting fabric which I'm really enjoying. My favorite material to use is rescued textiles. There's something special about using scraps to construct a wearable piece. Here's a preview of items that will be in the Creative Cookie/Little Spark Etsy store launching later this month, mostly made from scraps.

Gregory Parkinson: S/S 2011

L.A. based designer Gregory Parkinson a CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund finalist, showed his collection to industry insiders and devoted fans on Thursday night at the lovely W Hotel in Union Square. Rumor has it that Gregory was handpicked, to be a finalist, by Vogue editor, Anna Wintour herself. Attendees were able to get an up close view of Parkinson's keen knack for letting textiles mingle to create a medley of washed dyed, re-dyed, and textured garments that give the appearance of clothing caught in a summer downpour. My favorite looks were treated to mimic light-weight denim. I was also into the eclectically designed tote bags which accompanied many of the looks. The bracelets, cuffs, and charm necklaces, by created Ten Thousand Things, were a the perfect pairing for Parkenson's pieces. The collection had loads of layers which made it feel heavy in some places, but still quite special overall.

Turning 2

Ever heard of the terrible twos? Me neither!

Next Thursday on September 2nd The Creative Cookie celebrates 2 years and it has been a terrific journey. Thanks to you, I have been able to crawl out of my shyness and stumble into places I only dreamed of being. I am so looking forward to my sweet sixteen!
